Parent Resources

MISSION STATEMENT
Dear Harrison Park School Families,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning Harrison Park School families to the 2009-10 school year. I sincerely hope it was a great summer for all of you. I know your children have been eagerly anticipating the start of the new school year, anxious to meet their new teachers and new friends. We have been just as excited to see them, and to begin providing them with an excellent instructional program.
School begins every day at 8:40 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m., and research has shown again and again that successful students are those that come to school every day, on time, and ready to learn. Our students begin the day with a FREE breakfast in their classrooms. Research has also shown that students who begin their day with a healthy breakfast reach higher academic performance than students who do not.
While academic success is our top priority for your child, their safety is just as much our priority. We are vigilant in our efforts to keep our building safe and secure. During the day you will find only the main entrance doors open. All parents and visitors to Harrison Park School need to report to the school office whenever they enter the building during the school day. All of you must sign in and get a visitors pass, each time you visit.
Everything you have ever wanted to know about Harrison Park School is in your Parent Handbook, so please read it carefully when you get it in your opening day packet. It includes a monthly calendar with school events, and you will also receive a newsletter every Thursday to keep you informed on what is happening each week at school.
Teachers will go over the school Student Behavior Expectations with your child the first week of school, and you will also find them in your Parent Handbook. We encourage you to read these with your child, to help them understand how to be successful in school.
I look forward to meeting you at our Open House/Back-to-School night on September 24, 2009. Look for the flyer in your opening day packet for more details.
Sincerely,
Chris Aanderud, Principal
